The Country life for me.....

It's what living in the country is all about....
Old trucks.
Old barns.
Old houses.
No need to impress.
Just living and loving what you've got.
 Slow down... way down.
Enjoy the day.
What a charming little homestead this place is.
That old blue truck....perfect.
I couldn't love that old barn any more than I do.

 This cute cottage home.
Divine.
A porch that was made for sittin'.

And.. last, but not least.. the most wonderful tree house ..ever.
Wonky and wonderful.
 Recycled goodies.
 Charming details.
I really wanted to share this little homestead/farm with you all.
It is in a small little neighboring town.
And, a delight to see.
The epitome of country living.

Also.. a picture ...much more 'up close and personal' of our West mountains.

Yes.. this is the life for me.
Slowed down.
Enjoying the simple things in life.

Attitude of gratitude:
~I'm so grateful for my new little calling in the R.S.
I think it will really help me get to know more sisters and form new friendships.
~I'm grateful that Brooke had a job interview yesterday. A summer job would be a blessing for her... she will be able to save some money before continuing with her education in the Fall.
~I'm grateful that I noticed that the car was 'jiggling" as it went down the road. Thankful that my sweet hubby checked out my tire and found a split in it.
 New tires.
 Good.
Now, I won't worry when I need to drive somewhere.
p.s. Those tires were supposed to go 60,000 miles.. and haven't gone 30,000. Sheesh.. I feel like we just can't buy quality products any more.

  5. Something about this lifestyle that slows the heart rate, some people search their whole lives to find this blessing.

  9. Wonderful pictures as usual, and Kerin, we put 456.00 into a two year car on Monday, bad left front wheel bearing... at 32,000 miles. How can that BE?

  10. Mary Ann..
It is terrible the way that things are no longer made to last!!
Years ago someone tried to sell my dad an extended warranty. His comment was,'are you trying to tell me that you are selling junk, and that I'll need a warranty?' "Why would I buy something that you've already determined is going to break down?!"

    Amen!!

  12. Ah, the good life. Nothing like simplicity for me. I could get lost in that tree house for days...books, pb&j, and I'm good to go.
So much to be grateful for indeed.

Here's a crucial report from ABC News 20/20 on tires: http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=4826897

    Thanks for stopping by, Kerin.

    1. Thank you , thank you, thank you!!!!
I am so grateful that you sent me that information on tires.
      Shocked too!!!!!
I think it IS criminal to sell older manufactured tires as new!
I encourage everyone to see this report, check the manufacture year on your tires; make sure that you're now driving a ticking time bomb!

  13. Thx, Kerin. I'm actually teaching my daughter how to check for it as we speak. My son knows, but I think I'll remind him. ;)

  15. I love that tree house!! That would encourage any child's imagination to have a play house like that!!

I love old barns. I always wonder what stories they have to tell and how excited people must have been to first build them.

Sometimes I feel very out of place in this world but when I find people like Velma and you and many others in the blogging community I feel like I've come home. Thanks for being here! 18. Yes, country life is the only life I want to live, too. I grew up as a city girl and I don't want to go back.
And that is one neat ol' tree house! Alot of labor and love went into that one.
