It's what living in the country is all about....
Old trucks.
Old barns.
Old houses.
No need to impress.
Just living and loving what you've got.
Slow down... way down.
Enjoy the day.
What a charming little homestead this place is.
That old blue truck....perfect.
I couldn't love that old barn any more than I do.
This cute cottage home.
Divine.
A porch that was made for sittin'.
And.. last, but not least.. the most wonderful tree house ..ever.
Wonky and wonderful.
Recycled goodies.
Charming details.
I really wanted to share this little homestead/farm with you all.
It is in a small little neighboring town.
And, a delight to see.
The epitome of country living.
Also.. a picture ...much more 'up close and personal' of our West mountains.
Yes.. this is the life for me.
Slowed down.
Enjoying the simple things in life.
Attitude of gratitude:
~I'm so grateful for my new little calling in the R.S.
I think it will really help me get to know more sisters and form new friendships.
~I'm grateful that Brooke had a job interview yesterday. A summer job would be a blessing for her... she will be able to save some money before continuing with her education in the Fall.
~I'm grateful that I noticed that the car was 'jiggling" as it went down the road. Thankful that my sweet hubby checked out my tire and found a split in it.
New tires.
Good.
Now, I won't worry when I need to drive somewhere.
p.s. Those tires were supposed to go 60,000 miles.. and haven't gone 30,000. Sheesh.. I feel like we just can't buy quality products any more.
What a wonderful place to live. If we ever move again, it will be to a place just like that. Have a wonderful day. Patty
ReplyDeleteKerin, it is absolutely beautiful!! Love the old blue truck, and vintage signs!! My heart and soul are wanting to be in the country for the slow life! I hope soon!! That treehouse is amazing!! How fun would that be to have in your yard!! Thanks for sharing! xo Heather

ReplyDeletekerin wow it looks like you got a good piece of heaven.
ReplyDeleteI love it!
Something about this lifestyle that slows the heart rate, some people search their whole lives to find this blessing.

So wonderful to find you again. Your photos are spectacular. Love that old blue truck, especially. I've signed up to follow you - enjoy your afternoon.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you found me too!!
DeleteI've tried to get back to all my old followers and let them know about my new blog.
Somehow, I've missed a few here and there...and I certainly hope that they know I love 'em and welcome them to the new blog !!
So.. welcome back!!
This is a good way of life!
ReplyDeleteSlowing WAY down---what a great idea.
Enjoy your evening!
Melinda
Sooo glad you stopped by again and left the address! The link didn't work last time! Love your photos and music as always :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures as usual, and Kerin, we put 456.00 into a two year car on Monday, bad left front wheel bearing... at 32,000 miles. How can that BE?
ReplyDeleteMary Ann..
ReplyDeleteIt is terrible the way that things are no longer made to last!!
Years ago someone tried to sell my dad an extended warranty. His comment was,'are you trying to tell me that you are selling junk, and that I'll need a warranty?' "Why would I buy something that you've already determined is going to break down?!"
Amen!!
Oh how I envy you living in that pristine place. I sure long for a country life too. That barn is amazing. Picture perfect.
ReplyDeleteAh, the good life. Nothing like simplicity for me. I could get lost in that tree house for days...books, pb&j, and I'm good to go.
ReplyDeleteSo much to be grateful for indeed.
Here's a crucial report from ABC News 20/20 on tires: http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=4826897
Thanks for stopping by, Kerin.
Thank you , thank you, thank you!!!!
DeleteI am so grateful that you sent me that information on tires.
Shocked too!!!!!
I think it IS criminal to sell older manufactured tires as new!
I encourage everyone to see this report, check the manufacture year on your tires; make sure that you're now driving a ticking time bomb!
Thx, Kerin. I'm actually teaching my daughter how to check for it as we speak. My son knows, but I think I'll remind him. ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! You have a lovely blog ~ I have just discovered it and I am a new follower!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to meet you!
Best,
Anne ♥♥
I love that tree house!! That would encourage any child's imagination to have a play house like that!!
ReplyDeleteI love old barns. I always wonder what stories they have to tell and how excited people must have been to first build them.
I couldn't have said it better myself! I'm a new follower and just came over from Down Our Country Road (Velma's place...love that girl!) I love your music too! Sometimes I feel very out of place in this world but when I find people like Velma and you and many others in the blogging community I feel like I've come home. Thanks for being here! I look forward to getting to know you better!
ReplyDeleteWhat is that song anyway...I love it! I think it could be my theme song!
Hi Kerin,
ReplyDeleteI love your place and the old green eyed munster tried to bite me...No kidding, you do have a wonderful place...the treehouse and the barn...be still my heart.
blessings,
glenda
Yes, country life is the only life I want to live, too. I grew up as a city girl and I don't want to go back.
ReplyDeleteAnd that is one neat ol' tree house! Alot of labor and love went into that one.
