Tuesday

~ Wintery~

Hello friends.

I wanted to share these pictures of an incredible sunset.

We've been quite busy around here.
Taking advantage of the season to work indoors. We are downsizing.
Organizing and donating tons of stuff.
Preparing for retirement.

Some of our retirement plans include traveling.
There are so many gorgeous and amazing places to see, and things to do.

Last weekend, we bought a new travel trailer.
Ohhh... it's gettin' exciting!
For those of you that are retired, let me know what you enjoy most about retirement.
Also, what advice do you have for people that are about to become retired?

Attitude of Gratitude:
Thankful for a life filled with blessings.
Thankful for this season in my life.
Grateful for good health.

  3. Wow that sky is amazing.
We've done the travel trailer thing and it was wonderful. You have many adventures to look forward to.
What we like about retirement is just to be able to do what you want.

  4. Hi Kerin!

Gorgeous sunset...wow!! I just love the colors in a winter sunset!

Retirement!! We love being retired, and we love being together, it's awesome! But, the one piece of advise that I would give you is to make time for you. Retirement is wonderful, but sometimes, I feel like I don't have time to do the things that I want to do, by myself. My husband worked 12-16 hour days when he worked, so I had lots of time to do my own thing. Being together 24-7 can be a little much... ;0) My husband needs time for himself as well. We do tons of fun things together, but of course each year that passes makes us wonder how long we will be able to do the "adventurous" things we like to do...mostly with the trailer. We don't like campgrounds, so it's hard work when we go camping. We are seriously thinking about going south in the winter, cold and snow are almost too much for us...makes us lazy. Just enjoy not having to set an alarm everyday! It's a blank canvas!!

    Hugs and Love,
    Barb

  8. Something that happened to us was that we slowed down, not always looking at the clock. We find ourselves sitting on the front porch enjoying watching the birds in the feeder, or building a fire in the fire pit and just enjoying the afternoon (just the two of us) roasting a hot dog, laughing . . . enjoying the moments and reflecting on our life together. It's better than a honeymoon, because now you really know what love is all about.
Running around keeping schedules, doing chores in between everything else . . . that life is gone!
    Hello Happy Retirement!
    Congratulations.
    Connie :)

  9. Kerin, I am so excited for you. To get your new trailer is the start of a wonderful time. I loved the first part of retirement and had lots of plans. We did get the motorhome and we did travel a bit but now it seems we are just becoming homebodies, and that is what I like best about retirement..Your sunset is gorgeous!!..Happy Wednesday..xxoJudy

  11. For me retirement is about no commitments and staying home. I traveled some when I worked but I am truly homebody but maybe by the time you are my age you'll want to stay home too. But if you were a stay at home Mom then you probably want to go.
I don't think I told you but my ex and his wife retired to St. George. My daughter went with the grands last summer and saw the sights but said it was really hot! She and I love the snow so it probably wouldn't be a good fit for us. I love where you live now! It's gorgeous! But I can understand why people don't want to deal with snow anymore. But when you're retired you don't have to. I never shoveled or plowed my drive. The dogs would make a path for me to the garage and I had 4 wheel drive so I just went down the drive with it. I love a good snowstorm! Your trip looked fascinating!
